Today I hiked the most amazing sub-alpine terrain with beautiful sunny skies, crossed waterfalls and flowing rivers, ran up a peak to eat lunch in the pouring rain staring over a valley, hiked up snow and ice covered volcanic rocks, and took a nice sand dune walk along the beach. New Zealand – you have my heart.
I am starting the long journey back today. Sad to leave this place but excited to be back home with Hubby. Please pray for safe travel and a fun day in Nairobi tomorrow.
I woke up feeling under the weather this morning. As much as I hate being sick, being sick while traveling is even worse. Please pray for quick healing and that this is nothing more than some minor sniffles.
Finally got a full 8 hours of sleep. I never knew I could be so excited about a full nights sleep. Jet lag conquered!
Just got an SMS from Stefanie – after two plane flights and a 4-hour car ride, she’s arrived safely at Tenwek Hospital in Kenya.
Today Stefanie completed the USMLE Step 2 CK, her last exam of medical school. Tonight we’re off to Long Island to celebrate with cocktails and lobsters!
